Kovalam

Kovalam is a beach town, situated on the shoreline of the Arabian Sea at a distance of 16 kilometers from the Thiruvananthapuram city. The meaning of Kovalam is grove of coconut trees and this pristine village offers countless sight of coconut trees. It is truly paradise of the south India. It was noticed by regent queen Sethu Laxmi Bayi of Travancore kingdom in the 1920 and later was brought to public notice by Maharaja of Travancore. The town has a tropical dry climate. Winter is pleasant here with moderate temperature. Temperature varies from16 to 32 centigrade in winter. Summers are hot and humid here with average 35 centigrade temperature. Monsoons are accompanied by abundant and thunderstorms rain falls. Monsoon season is good for Ayurvedic treatments.
