Periyar wildlife sanctuary is situated on the bank of artificial lake. The sanctuary is fully covered with green grasslands and dense forests which makes it an ideal location for numerous wildlife like Indian tigers, lion, elephants, deer, sambars , gaur and lion tailed macaque. The quaint city Kumily is situated at a distance of 4km from this town. The city of Kumily is located in the realms of the splendid cardamom hills.
